An April Fool's Day viral video for DSW, I had to be really careful about how to tell this joke. The concept itself was so ridiculous that I had to make sure that the shoes looked somewhat believable visually, just enough to make people second guess their immediate "no way" reaction. I then decided to give the spot a slick, cool, technology-style feel, thus the cooler color palette and shot the spot in a 2.35 aspect ratio.My brother joined the Army when he was 19 years old. As the little brother, I was able to see him evolve into the person he is today, and that would not have been possible were it not for his military service. Naturally, with such a connection to the military, I am a huge fan of creating anything for our armed services and our veterans. That's why I was so incredibly excited to make this piece for USAA. And, to top it all off, it inspired me to jump out of a plane after wrapping up the shoot.
